Well, false alarm. I went in for my NST and visit today and they found my fluid to be low and murky. Got checked and I was 3 cm and ripe, contracting every 3-4 min. OB stripped my membranes. So they sent me home to get my stuff and dh and get the kids settled.
Went back, this time to l&d and got hooked up again to monitor. Well, my fav mw was on duty in l&d and checked my fluid and all again. I was still 3 cm and fluid was on the low side of regular and still particulate. She explained everything to me so well. The jist of it is that they would admit me, and enhance labor with pitocin until I started on my own. They didn't want to break my water because baby is too high still.
I told her I'd like to go on my own, which she knew would be my answer. But she had the ob on call check to see if she could get a different read on my fluid. She got the same reading.
So if this baby doesn't come by Thursday, it's some type of induction for me. One way or the other I'll have a baby by Thanksgiving! I'm still having contractions, but nothing to get excited about. I'm hoping baby will head down so they can break my water.
Funny thing, the ob said not many women at all decline an induction in my position. She said I had nothing to gain by going home. Yeah, nothing but a positive birth experience! I've gone the pitocin route with dd and I swore I would do anything to avoid it again. Sorry for the long post, but it's been an interesting day.
So any advice or labor vibes are highly appreciated. It was cute, dh gave you all credit for declining the stay today.
