what gestation were your subsequent children born at compared to first?

I am 38 +5 with my second child. My first was born at 38+1, so I am already feeling like this one is "late". I just want to know if there are many people out there whose second or later children were born "later" than their first. I was under the impression that first babies were usually the late ones.

don't count on this one being early! my first was born at 38+4. my second was born at 40+4 : even though he was only a few days past his due date, it felt like a lot more.

don't get your hopes up for another early one or the next couple of weeks could feel really long and be pretty miserable. i know they were for me

Interesting thread! My first was 40+2, I wonder what the second one will be. (not sure of dates so I will probably never know)

9 months (literally, from conception to delivery!! I was amazed!) so that would be 40w? we had differences of opinion regarding EDD (acc'd to EDD itw as 42w+1)

The first baby was clearly premature now that I look back at it, the second being SOOO healthy and we had so many problems with my first that NO ONE ever told me were b/c she was premature or to expect them.

Ds1 42+5
Ds2 42
DD1 40+2 by 9 week US; by my tracking cycles and DTD 40+1 (Stillbirth)
DD2 again this one varies -- LMP 40+6; 13 week US 4+3; 20 week US 39+5; my calculation was 39+3 to 39+5

My first was 40w 4d
My 2nd was 40w 9d (oops I mean 41w 2d)

My sister's births seemed to take longer and longer each time. She was about 2 weeks post date with each, but close to 3 weeks post with her 4th child.

38W3days
37W exactly

This coming from a woman whose mother gave birth at 42W3days exactly with each child, and whose six sisters averaged 42.5 to a full 44(six babies from two sisters gestated a full 44 weeks). I was fully expecting my kids to come AFTER 42 weeks. My daughter, to me, was a full month early, at least! Had my son been born a day earlier, because I transported to the hospital during labor, he would have been in special care simply because they'd have considered him "premature!" Crazy.
