A drinking water hose. I got mine on-line.

It's a water-safe lead-free hose used for recreational vehicles for drinking water, IIRC. I think they usually carry them at the mega-stores in the auto dept. Think this is the brand we used

They're sold in the hunting/camping section and they're white. I got mine at Smell-Mart but it took some doing as no one knew what I was talking about.

aha! the auto section!
perhaps home depot & lowes are the wrong places for me to be looking....

i might have to do some investigating in the 'burbs over the holiday weekend.

It is also called a boat hose or marine hose. You should be able to find them in a camping/rv or boat supply store. It is FDA-approved for drinking water. They are also sold online at birth supply and waterbirth sites.

Yeah, I had to go to a few places, got some weird looks. The funny thing is I was totally in labor but didn't realize it (quite the midwife I am) so I would go down one aisle and have a contraction, go down another and have another one. I kept thinking how strange my BH ctrx were so strong, lol. Obviously there was a reason I was hell bent on finding that hose because dd was born 24 hours later, lol.
