Side lying vs on the back?

I always put my older kids on their side, but aren't we supposed to have them on their backs? Lach was chokey for a while so I began putting him on his side. I wonder if I should switch to the back??

I have been laying Silas on his side b/c he scared me once when he spit up and he was on his back. Plus it's better for nursing.

i put chuck on his side, angled forward a little ... seems to be how he likes it he is in a bed with me .. so i worry less ....

but yes BACK TO SLEEP ........but i find him too jitty and he wakes himself on his back, flat.

I think the "official" line on this is that back is best. If back doesn't work for you, then side is much better than tummy.

nak

our silas is a side sleeper too - less gurgly & happier that way

since i'm in bed with him, i'm ok with that

Well, Caleb is usually in bed with us (he's not a big fan of the co-sleeper) and I usually put him on his side facing me. It's easier for me plus he spits up a lot and I always worry he'll choke on it.
