Nicole Ritchie planning a homebirth?

I was reading Celebrity Baby Blog and I saw that at her baby shower "The cake read, "There's no place like having a baby at home."

How cool would that be for the public normalization of normal birth!?!?!
That would be awsome and I would be shocked!!

That would be totally awesome if they did, but since the shower's theme was The Wizard of Oz (nichole's fav movie it said), I'm thinking it may have ment "there's nothing like having a baby [in the] home".... But I'm still crossing my fingers!

yep - I'll be totally impressed and a fan if she has an talks publicly about a homebirth

When she first got pregnant, she was quoted as saying that, because of her previous drug problem, she was going to stay away from all drugs, even for labor & delivery. I was like, yeah, right. Well good for her.

I wonder if it's because she believes in natural homebirthing or because she just wants to keep reporters away and not leaving he house is a great way to do it. I hear Pamela Anderson is a homebirther.

I think Pamela Anderson is actually on MDC

I've heard that! Yay for the internet right?

I would absolutely be a fan.

That would be awesome.

I think someone like her really has the "power" to bring this to the mainstream and make it much less "out there"

Poor baby. Imangine having a nice peaceful birth at home and then to be yanked into hospital for cosmetic surgery.

Yuck! Obviously I don't know her personally, but I would be totally shocked if she had a drug-free birth.

:Puke

I don't think she's having a homebirth, I think it was just going along with the Wizard of Oz theme.

I'll duck the tomatoes with you. It's hard to expect anything else when every diva under the sun is choosing C-section.

I try to be optimistic, but I've thought the same thing! Whenever I hear of a "star" giving birth I google their name along with "c-section." Most of the time, a bunch of articles come up. Pam Anderson is the exception. I'm not sure if she still frequents this site, but I remember reading several years ago that she said her favorite book was written by Mothering editor Peggy O'Mara.

I've seen her post! You can even check out her old posts!

So amazing to have a celebrity among us.

Oh, and I'd be pleasantly shocked if Nicole Richie birthed at home.
