Cravings? - Page 2

I'm craving steak. Any kind of steak lol. When I'm not pregnant I HATE red meat! I tried to convince dh to drive into Philly tonight to get me a cheesesteak from Gino's, but he wouldn't do it (I don't know why - it's only an hour one way!). He did, however, go to the local place and get me a steak so I guess I'll keep him

I've been craving canned black beans. : Other than that, I've mostly been noticing aversions to foods. I normally looooove garlic, but the smell makes me gag now. Same with Chinese food, fish, and anything that smells too strongly. DH ate some French fries in the house when I was gone (poor guy has to sneak his junk food when I'm not around ), and when I came back I smelled it immediately and forbade him to bring them into the house again until my m/s passes.

Meat has been making me gag lately, too. I was already mostly vegetarian before getting pregnant and had been toying with the idea of going 100%, but now I think my stomach has decided for me. I made a lovely dinner yesterday of spicy lentils and stewed chicken with cinnamon, and proceeded to pick out all the bits of chicken and give them to DH. I just couldn't eat it.

The other weird thing I've noticed is that I have absolutely no desire to eat anything sugary anymore. I used to love baking, but now I don't want cookies, pie, scones, or anything sweet, not even "healthy" whole-grain or naturally sweetened versions. I've been eating plain, unsweetened yoghurt lately, which used to make me shudder. And everything tastes too salty all of a sudden. What's up with my tastebuds?

All I could think about was the tostadas nopalitos they serve there. I could see the meal laid out in front of me. I could SMELL it practically.

And then we arrived, only to discover that...

THEY CHANGED THE MENU.

No more tostadas. I almost started crying. Oh my...
Almost the same thing happened the other day for lunch. I had an INSANE craving for a KFC chicken bowl (can we say calories???) - even though I'd never tried one before. So DH takes me there and they are SOLD OUT! I actually did start crying.........pretty sad. DH laughed at me. Insensitive jerk. LOL

I've been eating guacamole with tons of salsa for about 5 days straight now. It's the only thing I'm craving. And LOTS of liquid. I'm thirsty 24/7. . . which makes sense, because I'm nursing 2 kids and pregnant.

Salty Pasta....Gross!

I have been craving salty pasta. I don't even like pasta.... with salt? that's healthy!
Last night I went on a craving shopping trip and it went a little something like this: :
ravioli
egg noodles
oranges
green pepers
sorbet (I was craving ice cream, but trying not to eat too much fat..)
Bagels
Cream cheese
Raw almonds (suppose to help the urge to puke?)
I shouldn't admit- Chocolate covered gummi bears.
kettle chips (wanted salt and vinegar, which I normally HATE- could only get BBQ.
Wow, this is sounding BAD!

I am normally such a healthy eater- but I do like my sweets! Usually settle for honey and maple syrup on things.

I have been feeling a little background sickness almost all the time. Haven't actually puked yet, but just have that yucky feeling for most of the day.

Complex flavors are really turning me off- my husband usually makes amazing food, last night brown rice and shrimp coconut curry- couldn't do it....

Yah, salty carbs is where it's at for me.
Wish I was craving kale what can you do?
At this point I'm just eating what I think I can stomach.

No cravings here.

I used to be able to eat a bowl of oatmeal with fruit and I'd be good for 4 hrs...ummmm...NOT now, lol! I eat that now and 30 mins later it feels like I didn't eat.

Just like I had with DD...it's all about the protein. If I eat protein, It's all good

My boyfriend freaked out that I ate a whole jar of pickles (too much salt) but I was craving collard greens last night. I went to Piccadilly and got collard greens and green beans. I'm still craving my spicy caribbean food. I used to LOVE my boyfriend's black bean soup but now it makes me gag. I couldn't tell him that I couldn't eat so I choked down a bowl and threw out the rest.

This afternoon I'm craving beer! Now that's just wrong. My body must hate me to spite me in that way. Dh brought home a 6pack of tastey seasonal stuff lastnight. Grrrr!

I really want my spicy caribbean food. Maybe if I keep hinting at it, DBF will take the hint and take me there before our movie date Friday night.

I didn't have a single craving last pregnancy, but I am out of control with this one! DH had to run to the store last night because I NEEDED a blueberry muffin... I could think of nothing else until he returned with the goods. I have also NEEDED Mediterranean deli (falafel and lentils w/ rice) and sour cream and cheddar chips and cheese pizza. It is crazy how they come on and I can't let go of the idea until I get the food. I'm afraid of what's next!!

pineapple, strawberries and blackberries with vanilla yogurt. ( i don't care that they aren't seasonal and cost a million dollars - at least it's healthy right?) and still tomatoes on toast with mayo and lots of pepper. OH and cheesy scrambled eggs.

no cravings but I can actually drink Ginger Ale this time. With my first pregnancy it turned me way off. This time it helps with nausea a lot!

Wow that sounds really good. I have been getting sicker each day and my list of food I can actually eat has been dropping down to almost nothing. Today I only : one 2 egg & bacon sandwich and a very small bowl of pasta with olivoil and bacon. Can you see a trend. But tomatoes mayo on toast actually sounds good! THANKS!

My first craving was for packaged snow crab meat, I had to get some from the kitchen yesterday morning when I woke up at 6:20 am and then proceeded to eat it with my fingers in bed, in the dark! My second has been watermelon, which I kinda wound up feeling bad about because my husband wound up buying a 1/4 piece of watermelon for me last night at grocery store for $12.99! He must REALLY love me! Ha.

I'm fluctuating between not being hungry at all, then I'm going to have a breakdown if I don't eat NOW NOW NOW I've been craving Cape Cod Kettle Chips, Boar's Head Londonport Roast Beef and root beer of all things. I'm still drinking a ton of water, so that's good. I try to snack on things like blueberries or healthy snack bars, and pickles are really really good to me now, too. I tend to lose weight the first tri, but I chalk that up to healthier eating
