I'll definitely work on a birth story, for later. For now, Bastian James was born today, November 20th, at 4:29am. Twelve total hours of labor, but really on four or five that were difficult. It was an unassisted waterbirth. I got pretty much exactly what I wanted. I feel so proud and grateful. I was surrounded by my friends and family and felt so supported. He weighed in at 10.95 pounds and was born in the caul with on hand up next to his face. Ouch! He came out, though
I'm sore, but basically in good shape and very high spirits. I love being at home. We've been just resting and visiting with people all day. He's nursing really well and often and besides that, just sleeping alot.
There's two hours of video of the birth. I'll probably eventually cut it down and put it on youtube or something. We have no still shots of the birth...everyone forgot! I'm sure we can capture some great shots from the video, though.
