Favorite Diapers?

So speaking of Fuzzy Bunz...

I have tried disposables for going out. Pampers and Huggies both suck! She pees right through them and poops up the back.

I love the fit of Very Baby but she has soaked them as well.

So far what works best, what I love, is fitteds and wool longies. Keeps me, the bedding, and her cloths clean and dry. I still need to try prefolds under wool and the wool jersey snap All in Twos.

What is working for all of you?

Right now I have Kissaluvs, one FB and some prefolds. I couldn't live without the ONE Rikki Wrap (???) cover from Mother Ease for the K0s and prefolds. He's a super soaker and so far that cover is heavenly!

DD was tiny and could only wear Pampers. Maybe you could try a different size?

This time we'll be using KL0's. We tried last time but I had no knowledge of what to do. They fit pretty well but she didn't tell me KL0's were different from AIO's and needed a cover so I got pretty upset when DD peed on me!

I decided to use up the newborn size pack of sposies from the hospital, but she's already too big for them! : I just started full on with cloth today. I've got a strange assortment of covers with prefolds, a few FB and another pocket. I decided I liked the "other" pocket the best, I think it's Ella's something or other... it was dark and I can't remember. It's a velcro closure... very nice at night to have something less complicated than a pf and cover to fumble with. I have yet to really try out my wool.

I like the fit of the VB's the best, hands down. But she does soak through them pretty quickly. Same goes for the rest of our cloth. I've just taken to changing her at every nursing or once an hour (if she's not asleep). I know once she grows into smalls, they'll last a bit longer.

Prefold lovers here. With Bummis Super Whisper Wraps or wool.

I'm also thinking of sewing up some fitteds, though, because Asher's a super pooper. Meaning, he holds his poo in and explosively lets it out once every 1-3 days. Whenever he does, it's a mess. It matters not what he's in--sposies, prefolds, whatever--the poo goes everywhere. I'm determined to catch it somehow.

Alisha, Asher soaks through everything, too. I have to change his diaper every two hours or less.

We used Pampers Swaddlers (nb) for the first 3 weeks. We started with our prefolds and bummis/prorap covers a few days ago and it's going pretty well. Their legs are still a bit skinny so we sometimes deal with bf poop blowouts on the sides. We have a few small FB but they're still a bit big unless I crossover the snaps on the waist.

How about for skinny kids? I have a bunch of different styles of dipes, but silly me, I bought for the correct weight range, forgetting that I'm married to a beanpole. To make matters worse, he is all leg and no torso, just like his dad, so I'm having trouble not diapering him up to his chest if I use the CD. I swear, between the snoring, farting, and hiked-up clothing, this baby is really a 90-year old man.

I'm just using the Pampers swaddlers for now, because I don't want to reorder a whole bunch of other cloth diapers that he'll outgrow soon, but any moms of kids with skinny legs have success early on with CD? Should I just wait it out?

Oskie, dd2 had no butt. Even preemie sposie's had overlapping tabs on her skinny bottom (she was 7 lb. 2 oz., hardly a preemie, but just super skinny). The best thing I found for her was preemie prefolds with nb prorap covers. I had tons of AIO's and fitteds, but they just didn't fit her well for a month or so. Snappi's were tough to use on her though, they were just too big. They need to make 2 sizes of snappi's I think. Anyway, preemie prefolds are the most adjustable of all the diapers out there and gave us the best results with her.

With disposables, have you tried the Walmart brand White cloud? That was the only one that doesn't leak for me.

I have prefolds with prorap covers with a few pocket dipes (1 blue berry and 2 snugglebees) for going out. Works great for us.

And if you do want to use disposables i would definitely size up. I used them with ds, and it took me a few weeks to figure out that I was using the wrong size by going with his weight, I needed to make sure he was at the lowest weight on a size, or go with the next size up. I'm going to try the g-diapers when this baby is born, and I have an assortment of cloth, so I will see what works!

If you want to use disposables for outings, I suggest moving up a size. We have to use disposables due to apt living and I've found that they leak like crazy when it's time to move up a size. We still have poop blow outs occasionally, but we keep the pee outs to a minimum when we're in the larger size. Aldria is 3 weeks and already in size 1.

Thank you for the inspiration to get my wool out!! Ds's cord stump was not healed totally until today really (the way his belly button folds there was still a part that was getting NO air) and I did not want to put wool on him- yucky fuzzies on a bloody/moist stump- gross! I love my wool with ds1.

For Caleb, I am really liking the small Bumgenius 1.0s. I got a few on super sale when they were making the 2.0 version and they fit really nicely, so of course now I'm wishing I'd bought more. We've also got some small Bumkins AIOs which are good but I always worry about a blowout with those (none so far...)

Mostly, we're using preemie and infant PFs and NB and small bummis SWW. They work great. The best fit is obviously the preemie PF and the NB cover, but I'm cheap, so mostly we have the infant and small sizes and they work fine if a bit bulky. I can't see spending so much $ on something that won't fit very long even if it is cute!

Only one blowout here and that was when he was wearing a sposie. I had forgotten how much a NB poops and pees though :

We've been using FB x-smalls and Kissaluvs 0s.... this little guy soaks through a kissaluvs with just one pee.....so I save them for home when I can change him every hour or so.... we use a double stuffed fuzzi bunz x-sm for overnight and double or single stuffed for outings depending on how long we'll be gone.

Good covers seem to be the key to the kissaluvs lol I really LOVE how well they fit, though...and how well they contain everything.
