Please help me figure out my heat!

This is a totally lame question, I am sure. But I am a single mom, with very little house knowledge. I just bought my first house in August. It is energy efficient, so I have not had to turn on the heat yet. Today we woke up with 5" of snow! So, I turned on the heat. There are no visable vents or radiators. After a time, I could feel that the floor was heated. I have separate controls for all the different sections of the house, but can not figure out how this works.

Does any one know what this is called so I can google it?

Lucky, lucky mama! I fell in love with this in Korea, and I about have DH convinced to have it retrofitted to at least some rooms when we have to redo the floors. My children loved to just lay on the kitchen (and ahem, restaurant) floors when we visited

I've never heard of radiant heat.

We have base board heat and it's awful. It costs so much to heat our house
