9 days old and gained 11oz!

I am so very thrilled I almost cried at the midwife appointment today. Baby is 9 days old and is up 11oz from her birth weight. Breastfeeding is working this time! It was never this easy before and I know what a bad latch is as she has shown me a good one. When she does the bad one I break it and re-try. With my other kids, it was always bad and I thought I just had to cry through it and some day it would get better. It never did. My did the failer to trive thing and after 8 months, I gave up and moved right to full formula as my PPD was horrible and I was not enjoying baby. This is so different and I swear it is because of the birth..... No drugs to mess us up.

Just thoguht I would share my joy.

Awesome! So far, 3rd time seems to be a charm for me too. I had lots of problems with latch (dd2) and supply with my others as well. I hope it continues to go great for us both!

OMG, she is UP that much from her birth weight??? You must have heavy cream coming out! Good for you -- nothing gives you BF confidence like a weight gain.

we had a similar weight gain (6-10 @ dscharge to 7-9 at 9 days...) and I was jumping up and down w/excitement the other day!

Definitely a breastfeeding confidence booster! :-)

That's awesome Kimmy! Glad to hear that all is going well on the bf front. We are also doing well - Silas went from 8 lbs 6 oz (his lowest weight) to 9 lbs 9 oz in 12 days (today)! He's got lots of rolls on those legs now.

I am so happy about it. I can not explain how much it broke me in the past thinking I failed my children by not breastfeeding longer. I had no idea that each feeding did not have to bring me to tears. It was so bad I would cry as soon as baby seemed hungry. It was horrible.

This.... this is amazing. I feel so lucky.
