Thanks everyone. I'm still having a hard time getting my mind around the idea she is gone.

I really should post this somewhere else so other mama's who knew her can find out...I'm not sure if anyone else did.

Boy, what a Thanksgiving. Go give your DH/kids/babies an extra hug and kiss.

monocyte-I know what you are feeling. Laura was a good friend to me as well. We went thru pregnancy together, which was how we first met. She was also a moderator on my forum. We recently had a whole thread dedicated to Laura where she wrote out about her family, her life, pictures, etc. I have been reading it over and over again. Its just so unbelievable this has happened. I am deeply saddened and shocked by this.

I held on so tight to my little one last night, in tears thinking of Laura and the girls never experiencing that touch again.

Hang in there mama. Laura was an incredible mama, an incredible friend, an incredible person--we can all take a piece of Laura with us as we go on about our lives and know that we crossed paths with an amazing spirit.

I'm sorry.
I will remember to hug my kids a little closer and relax a little since we never know which day is our last.

I'm so sad that Laura and I never got a chance to meet in person.

Is there anything that her girls or husband need/want?

This has been so shocking, especially to those of us who knew her.

Hi Kelli,

We met in July at LLLI, Laura stayed at my house, I'm really not sure what to say right now to anyone.

Hugs to you, and congrats on your new baby.

I miss my friend.

Laura

She stayed at my house recently too, she was a soft spoken, kind hearted, warrior mama to her two girls.

Bless them all

Laura

I will miss you. Thank you for letting us get to know you even a little.

I am so sad for everyone who is grieving right now. And for those 2 little girls. Laura was such a special person. She will be missed.

Laura,

God you were such a beautiful, warm, wise and strong spirit. I will truly miss having your voice in my life everyday. I can only take comfort in believing that birth and death are neither beginnings or endings, but a cycle, a path we walk of love and lessons we share together and that you will still be with us forever, somewhere. I love you sister.

Got this in an email from her SIL last night. Wanted to pass it on...

(and it was from Laura's email account, so sad to see her name pop up in my inbox...

Laura Schaefer, age 36, died in her sleep of unknown causes on Wednesday,
November 21, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Larry Malsky, and her
children, Kaitlyn and Megan Malsky, ages 4 and 3. Her family needs help to
get through these difficult times. Two websites have been set up to manage
this effort:

* http://www.naturegal.org
-- Information and links. Includes a PayPal link for donations to a trust fund for her children.

* http://lotsahelpinghands.com/c/601281/
-- A community website where visitors can share their memories and photos. There is also a calendar that allows people to sign up and help the family in specific, requested ways.

Some of us were lucky enough to have known Laura in person, but she has also touched the lives of a many, many people on the internet. Words cannot
describe our feelings of loss.

Thank you for your help.
