i just felt something that was mildly painful, about 5 seconds long, and very different from my braxton hicks (which have felt like uncomfortable digestion trouble). this was more localized and, like i said, mildly painful rather than just uncomfortable.

was that a "real" contraction?

i had another two hours later when i was cooking dinner. i'm hesitant to call them contractions yet but they're definitely something.
