Fractured Rib

So I just found out that my baby has actually Fractured my Rib!!
Needless to say I am in a lot of pain.
My Chiro said that it probably wont heal until after the birth (My EDD is 12/5)

The pain gets worse if I am trying to push out a #2 and I am really worried that I am going to have trouble pushing the baby out!

Has anyone else experienced this or heard of a woman giving birth with a broken or fractured rib?

Oh wow! I can't imagine that! I was horrifically sick for the last 5 wks of my preg with ds and dislocated a rib while coughing the night before labor started. It was terribly painful (I can't imagine dealing with a broken rib while preg!!). When my water broke the next morning and I called my mw, she was very insistent that I find a chiro to put my rib in place because she said it would definitely interfere with the pushing stage. This was Easter Sunday at about 9am, and finding someone was next to impossible--by the time we did, I was in such intense labor that I couldn't get there.

I'm not sure what your belief system is, but this was my experience. We started an extensive prayer chain. My uncontrollable cough completely stopped and my rib pain went away as well. This continued for the duration of labor. As soon as the baby was born, my cough resumed and I had some residual rib pain but the bones were clearly back in place. I really feel like there was divine intervention at work.
