Stitch didn't heal properly...

So I had my two week check up yesterday and everything was good, except I have one stitch that healed kinda funky. My MW said that it won't cause any problems but I'm still a bit worried of course...I had a second degree tear, so two layers of stitches. My MW sutures with cat-gut (b/c despite being a vegetarian) she says it is the best material for stitching and healing. Well, on Friday, I lost a stitch and about an inch of thread. I talked to her then. Apparently this is not a big deal (??) b/c the stitches are self-dissolving.

But when I saw her yesterday she said that the spot that healed weird was probably where the stitch fell out. Basically, the two halves of the tissue healed seperately so there are two healed edges that touch each other side by side instead of being a united piece of tissue, joined in the middle. : She showed it to me and it *is* small. It's in the outer layer of tissue only and it's in the middle of a row of stitches that had healed fine and/or still had stitches left in. But really...: She said she could touch it with Silver nitrate and hope for the best, or we could just fix it next time I have a baby. She also said it won't affect intercourse, but I'm worried. Not just about the sex, but it seems like maybe a cleanliness/hygiene issue potentially since it might be like a little "pocket". It grosses me out just to think about it.

Not that I have to have a "perfect vagina"! it certainly wasn't perfect before I had kids, but ugh! I just don't want any issues later on. It *almost* makes me want to have our next kid sooner than I had originally thought, just so I can get it "fixed".
Has this happened to anyone else? If so, is it like my MW said and truly not a problem?! I am so skeptical.

No personal experience here (I hope! Haven't had my stitches checked yet to see how things are.) but you might want to post on the Birth and Beyond forum to see if any of the folks there have any wisdom to share. I just have some hugs to share.

I have not a clue about this other then I say get it fixed now if you feel that is best. Your self image is important as is your worry about being clean. (((((hugs)))))

No personal experience here!! But I have the same issue with a spot on my son's penis that traps junk underneath and gets red and itchy. This was when I was being bullied into circumcision and not standing up for my kids (thank goodness at least Lachlan was spared!).

It worries me too. It would seem that same pocket on his penis is what would happen to you. Redness, itchy, smelly gunk staying inside. Gee, I wish I could be more positive here!!

I guess the only option is to wait it out and see what happens. Hopefully all will be well and there won't be any problems! But if there are, a simple cosmetic procedure in an office should fix it I would think. ????
