Moldy Burley -- Help

Help.

My husband thought it a good idea to store our burley (bike trailer for tots to sit in) in the unused canning room in our basement which is dank and damp. He pulled the burley out today and the fabric (not sure what it is made of -- kind of like a jogging stroller)is all moldy and stinky.

I tried scrubbing it with a vinegar/water solution, but it's still gross. I threw the only removable piece in the washer with hot water, detergent and vinegar.

How can I clean up the mold? I really hope I can save this.

Thanks for your advice.

you might try bi-o-kleen bacout available at kokopelli's green market - about half way down the page. we've used it for all sorts of stains and odors, and it works great.

the only other thing is that the mold may have broken down the waterproofing on the nylon, so you may need to rewaterproof it. you can get spray on stuff at places like rei or other outdoor stores.

you might also try calling burley and see what they suggest for cleaning and waterproofing -
burley

good luck!
