Today I lost my dog, she was part of our family for 10 years, she was so loved, She was our first child i dont know how to get pass this. She was not sick it was sudden, she was peeing all over the house lastnight and then this morning was shaking and panting horrible so my DH took her right in to the vet they found a huge tumor on her bladder, I really wont go into details, but I just cant seem to believe this happened , I never got to say goodbye, all I can do is stare at her food bowls and cry. I was a SAHW and now a SAHM so me and that crazy dog were together 24/7 . I can remember saying to my DH on occasion , "take your dog to work with you, i cant stand her she is ruining the house"
she was a digger and was constantly bringing mud into the house.
I used to yell at her and threaten to make slippers out of her if she didn't stop that digging, What I would give right now to see a paw print of mud on my carpet, god I miss her so much, she was my shadow. My DH is taking her passing very badly she was his very best friend, Her name was Storm, and I will forever love her.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your furry friend. It is just so hard. And, I think it might be even tougher when it is sudden and you don't get a chance to prepare for the loss. Come on over to the pets forum here at MDC sometime if you want to talk about your Storm. A lot of the ladies over there really understand.

In a few months (not anytime soon, you need a little distance first), I recommend the book "Marley and Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog", by John Grogan. The author's dog, Marley, was a big troublemaker, like your Storm. But, he was also very loved, just like your pup. It is a sweet story that really illustrates just what an important and special role our dogs play in our lives, through all the stages of their own lives.

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost one of my dogs almost two years ago. My Shayna. She sounded similar to your dog, with me being with her 24/7, me not always appreciating her, etc. For the longest time, every bad thing I ever said to or about her, every time she got in trouble that I would wish she still live at my Father-in-Laws, every time I took her for granted, haunted me. She used to pee on the floor, because she was getting old. I used to pray I didn't have to clean it up anymore. Now I would give anything to have to clean her pee off the floor. In time, I started to remember all the love I gave her as well. I know things weren't always perfect between me and Shayna, but I also know that she was well loved, well cared for and had a good life. You will always miss Storm, but always remember she was well loved and that she knew that. Dogs always know when they are loved, even if you don't show it all the time.
