My left breast is on steroids I think

One of "my girls" is an overachiever. It's bigger, has a better shaped nipple, makes more milk, etc. It's like a set of fraternal twin girls where one feels less pretty than the other.

Seriously though, my left breast is bigger than the right. You can even see that thru my shirt! I wondered if I should feed more with the little one to stimulate more milk there...?

Its normal, I have tryed feeding off the other side more, it hasnt changed in 2yrs sometimes one of our boobs milk ducts just work better than the other.

Mine too! I could feed her with just the one, I think. She prefers it and so did DD1. I feel kinda embarrassed bc I wonder if anyone else can tell.

I had to laugh when i saw this thread b/c I am NAK, on the left breast, of course!!! I could have written your post word for word, Gina! And Melissa, my ds1 preferrd the left and it seems ds2 does as well. When I pump on both sides, I get like three times as much from the left as I get from the right. . Well, I'm right handed so it certainly make it easier to do things around the house one handed (like make dinner!). Gotta look on the bright side

Another big lefty here! It's less noticeable than with DD though.

Someone told me once it was related to if you were right or left handed & that kind of makes sense. When I'm nursing on the left my right hand is free to do things & I'm right handed.

That makes sense! I'm another lefty here. when DD#1 was born I was told to nurse more on the right just so she would get used to it. If it had been up to her she would always have been on the left in the beginning. This little guy is less picky but he seems to make a mess when he nurses on the right.

I'm a righty and my right boob is my overachiever.

I've read that most women have a "superproducer" and a "slacker boob"... my right was my superproducer last time around, too.

I had forgotten about this until checking back in on this thread, but I have an acquaintance who only nursed her dd on one side ever. Her supply quickly dried up on the other side. She said that a lot of European women only nurse on one side (??? I have no idea if this is true but she has a lot of family in Denmark, so I figure she knows better than I do!) It seems to me that you should give the breasts equal treatment even if one makes more milk than the other since *part* of BFing is the baby developing muscle tone, coordination, gaze etc bilaterally.

megh always called my left the big one. it is bigger...if i look down i can always tell... awwwww megh said she loved both when i asked which she liked better...she said they are beautiful.

she said type "mommy i love you...you are so beautiful...i just can't forget you...you are beautiful cuz i love you and you love me........and every kid on the earth is nice cuz they love their mommy. and they love the earth. they pick up the food in the earth. they love you. they love every single mom in the earth. every pg mom, every nice mom, every mean mom. cuz they are our family. and i want my pink guitar...it is so cute i could even sleep with it. cuz you are my beautiful mommy. ballloons balloons i love you so...mommy on a day i love you so...mommy i love you. you are going to work today. i love you very much. you are beautiful........that's it."

i remember though that one of my milks as i call them was an overachiever too...think it was the bigger one.
