Your birth story to come!!! Her’es your horoscope for this week though: Scorpio: A recurring dream will finally start to make sense when some of it comes true in real life. Just hope it's not the one where you show up naked!.

Wow. What a crazy trip it’s been.
Contractions started Nov. 16 in the morning at around 6:45 a.m. I thought, meh, I have time – or gas -- and sent dad off to work anyway. I called him home at 8:30 a.m. because they were coming fast and I was having to breathe through them. We thought, “She’ll be here today! And probably before your brother gets home from school!”
Nope.
I laboured all day in various positions – at home – and in the pool (we have pix!) which was heavenly. While it slowed things down a little it made it much more bearable. Our doula, Rosemary was with us the whole time and was an absolute lifesaver. Cold clothes, cool drinks, whatever we wanted she was there. She was amazing! You father was amazing. Words can’t even describe how much I loved him at that point—heck words can’t describe that now! LOL.
Your big brother was at a sleepover at a friend’s house in town. It’s kind of good that he wasn’t here for some of this. It was INTENSE! While contractions don’t actually hurt persay, they do require an incredible amount of inward concentration. There is just so much pressure and feeling that it’s almost indescribable. When your time comes (if it comes) you’ll understand. However, I’m absolutely AMAZED at what a body can do. I am woman…here me ROAR.
Continuing on….
By 3 p.m we were still labouring in the pool…
(these next notes are by dad…)
… and all is going well. Mom doesn’t think she can do it. That’s a good sign you are close.
4:15 p.m. Mom is back on the toilet and still mucousy /bloody show but everything is normal and still progressing nice.
4:22 p.m. bag of waters burst. Greenish tinge, must have a little merconium. Heartbeat is still 155 and pushing contractions have begun.
5:30 p.m. Contractions are still minutes part and mom quit for the second time…guess you’re on your own!
6:30 p.m. Progress is slow. Cervix is swollen and mom is in a lot of pain. Moved to bed to try a new position.
7 p.m. Mom not pushing during contractions (have to let swelling go down) much more comfortable and sleeping between contracting.
9:50 p.m. Not much change. Mom is laying on the bed and resting.
12 a.m. New water in the pool. All seems well.
1: 30 a.m.: We got our first look at you. A hand came out first. Looks like you’re trying to be difficult.
2:15 a.m. Foot not hand. You’re breech! Go to Plan B, call 911 for ambulance. Attendants took mom 15 feet in a special chair to load onto stretcher to load onto ambulance. We drive straight to hospital. (note: your heartrate never dropped below 150 the entire time! You were never in distress once. Doctors were absolutely amazed at how strong are. They call you the ‘miracle baby’. We just call you "our daughter".)
4:05 a.m. Arriving in hospital. Surgical team waiting to give mom a C-section.
4:45 a.m. Doctors take mom to operating room and knock her out for surgery.
4:26 a.m. I hear your very first cry as you’re pulled from the womb. You sound good and health and continue to cry for several minutes. (note: you shit all over the doctor we fired. Yay you!!!)
5 a.m. I finally get to meet and hold you in the maternity nursery for about 45 minutes while your mom wakes up and recovers from surgery. You almost sucked the fingernail off my pinky finger while we waited for you to get your first boob.
“The rest of the story is your future history. Good luck to you beautiful angel.”- Dad

The first week….
Wow….what a busy week! You eat and eat and eat and poop and poop and poop and sleep and sleep and sleep. Last night (Nov. 22) was the first night you slept on mom. You won’t sleep in your bassinet for the whole night just yet, but when we swaddle you and put you on our chests to hear our heartbeat you’re out like a light. You are napping in the bassinet though. Baby steps…LOL. We’ve brought you out to meet the world already and your brother and father are absolutely smitten with you. (how could they not be? You came from me!)
I got my stitches out and everything is healing nicely. You’re healthy and well and beautiful. You explode a few diapers a day…that’s a good sign!
We’re having your official birthday party tomorrow night (Nov. 24) with friends and family and we’re even popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate! We wanted to do that the day you were born, but we were in the hospital and they frown at that LOL.

Again...it was absolutely amazing. Everything went exactly according to our birth plan!!!
