My water broke ON my due date!

Yeehaw! Is this the best little baby ever! Today's my due date, and I explained to the baby last night that his daddy's last day of work ends at 2 p.m. so anytime after that is a good time for him to come.

So I kid you not, at 1:45 my water starts to break! Too funny. Good baby.

I'm having some lower backache, and belly cramps sort of far apart, and we have a call out to our friends to come get the dogs out of the way cuz they're like ON TOP of me. They totally know something's up.

Here's my worry... the birth assistant asked if I have backaches with my period and I said yes, and she said that may mean I have back labor even though my baby's positioned correctly. Is that true? Cuz if it is, I'm a bit worried! I thought most women had backaches with their period. Also, I'm a bit concerned about my tailbone which is broken (an old, old break)... I hope it doesn't hurt too much when he's going by there.

Well, : for me!

I get lower back pain with my period.

I've only had one true back labor, and baby was posterior.

I think you should not let her put that negative thought into your head, everyone perceives pain differently. Labor hurts, plain and simple- your back isn't going to feel like it's in heaven or anything. If baby is positioned correctly, I wouldn't be concerned.

Congratulations, I hope labor and birth meet all of your most wonderful expectations.

No matter what my back was ouchy in Labor and I would not call it real back labor but then I seem to feel labor pain differently, not screaming like. What really helped was my doula pushing hard on the lower part of my back durring a contraction. I have heard if you can get someone with a hot water bottle to press it into your back that really really helps! I had no hot water bottle or I would have done it!

LOL

Happy Laboring and wishing you a beautiful birthing!
