so..for the last 5 days DD1 has been having an allergic response of some kind at 5 o'clock in the evening almost to the minute. I'll come in and see her sitting there with BRIGHT red and hot cheeks, chin, & ears (and btw...a long time ago it used to only be cheeks and ears but has come to involve the chin too). and her eyes are reddish and shiny like she has been crying (even though she hasnt been). The eyes being watery makes me think this is def a histamine response. what do you all think?
I am 99% certain that it is tied to food in some way but have no idea what is causing it. when she was on TED and low salic/amine/msg she presented NO symptoms. now she is back on G (celiac testing coming up in a week) and getting some corn and prob some hidden stuff. also, she has been eating potatoes and rice too, both of which i know she reacts to in some way.
what is odd is that it has been at the SAME time everyday. one day it was an hour earlier though. i keep a food diary and i just cant figure it out. the only foods in common are: potato of some kind all but one day; corn all but one day; dairy all but one day; and gluten every day. i know it sounds like gluten but i am not certain because when she was eating just bread for gluten she never reacted like this. so either it is a hidden or common ingredient of some kind in the crackers and cereal she is eating or her reaction to G has gotten worse.
does this sound at all familiar to anyone else? ever had a witching hour like this?
