Does there HAVE to be a bloody show?

I'm just wondering because I haven't seen one, and with the full moon tomorrow, I would really like to believe that things could be happening. Contractions are still 10 minutes apart, consistently, feeling more intense----since Wednesday night.

But there is nothing exciting coming out of my cervix!

Nope!!!

I go into labor without one. My water breaks and I barely get a pink tinge for hours. With this birth I didn't have "bloody show" until 12 hours after water breaking, I was in the birthing pool, beginning to push!

Am I normal? Probably not. But I've never had a BS in 4 labors!

Not at all! With my first I lost my mucous plug but no blood. With my second I didn't have any signs and went into labor with contractions 5 min apart from the start. The blood came once I got to the hospital and I think I was about 6 cm dialated.

Anyway, sounds like you're on your way. Good luck!!!!!

Dec ddc lurker...

In the 3 labors I've experienced so far, I didn't see a bit of mucous until I was fully in the throes of labor.

Good luck!

I had nothing exciting coming from below with #1 until his head came out.... and of course the water breaking with help.

Another nope. I didn't have any with my first 2 until after I was in active labor, probably 5-6 cm at least. This time I had some blood-tinged mucus over the course of several days, and a week later I still have no baby.: So I don't think it means anything. I hope your ctx bring you a baby soon!

Not for me either! No bloody show with my first, no bloody show yet with this one. Plus, I think its possible that some people don't have a "bloody" show. It can be just clear or milky if thats the way your body make it!

i didn't have any show or mucus this time, i just went into labor.

I didn't have any with # one, not even after my water broke (I assume it came at some point during labor, but I never saw anything.) I never had any with #2 either, but my water didn't break until right before she was born so I saw nothing that time either. I wouldn't even know such a thing existed if I didn't hear about it all the time. I also never dropped until labor, even with # one.

I only had it with ds1 when I was well into my labor. With ds2 I lost my mucous plug after my water broke and it was streaked wit blood. Not sure if that counts as bloody show or not. if not, I didn't have one with that labor at all. It sounds like you'll have this baby soon! ELV to you!

Um- Yeah, but with every child past #1 with me it happened like within 2 hrs of birth, instead of like the day before with baby #1.

It's from the little blood vessels at the mouth of the cervix breaking as baby's head presses down on them- no way to avoid it, really.

Just because it hasn't happened, though doesn't mean you won't be a mamma within a few hours.

How's THAT to drive you crazy-obsessed.

welcome to my world.

I'm at 7 min apart today. every day it's something new. Never a baby, though.
