Support for a support person

My sister flew me out to her home 3 weeks ago to be her support person for her during her homebirth. Her daughter was born 3 years ago via csection due to breech positioning so this is her first homebirth. Her duedate was yesterday and she was actually contracting every 7 minutes from 1:30am until last night around 10pm. Then everything stopped. I am trying to reassure her that she's doing great, baby us fine, but she's getting discouraged.

I personally think she's so worried about everyone around her (her dd, me being from home so long and away from my older 2 kids, etc) that she's not able to focus on birthing.

It's too cold to walk outside so I've taken her to Target, Sams, etc to walk which gets them started but when we return home she's back to worrying and they stop. I sent her dh and dd over to grandmas for a few hours and my son and I are holed up in our room upstairs. I'm hoping she'll feel safe enough and not distracted to begin again.

HOW can I support her during this on again off again time?

Remind her that the body takes natural breaks in a labor that is unhindered and this is totally normal.

Remind her that you want to be there and it's great for you and your so happy - take away the stress of thinking that others are judging her.

Make her some RRL Tea
