DD was molested a few years ago and they refused to collect any evidence or accept DCFS's report until they had "hard evidence" (which they refused to accept). This is pretty typical of our town's police in child and family welfare matters. The stories I could tell you. =/

Anyway...ya...that's pretty much the end. I've been told by a lawyer whose opinion I trust that if I try to go through to media or anything without any recognized authority finding them liable or at least an upcoming court case or something...I could end up in a lot of trouble for slander. The most I can really do is spread it around via word of mouth. That's small enough that it wouldn't be taken seriously as a slander case.
That sucks so bad! One thing you can do is go here and tell people what you think about them, and it's legal to do so.

It's sad that they don't see how wrong that NP and doctor was, how ignorant can you get!

I am so sorry about what happened!

I am not sure how going to the media to tell your experience is considered slander..but I am sure I am missing something?? You are telling your truthful experience, with that said I would encourage you to share this physicians name with every mommy discussion forum you know including Mothering (Finding your Tribe)

I would never go see a physician/np who did not know the care of an intact penis...this may hit them where it hurts...their pocketbook.

Good for your for complaining to the board...it is interesting that they kept one of the cases open. It is possible they found something (which they won't share with you).

Am I a bad person for wanting to forcibly peel her prepuce off? I am so sorry. Your son is a strong boy, though. Isn't it just kickass how the young people see it so clearly? We have momentum- molestors like her WILL find justice, one day. You rock for what you accomplished.

I wonder what their response would have been if you had a daughter that had come back from a physical exam with a medical professional with torn and bleeding genital tissue?

The double standard is shocking to me.

I am quite disappointed.

Are the notes of this case legally available to you? If so, I am curious if you could print them and somehow pass them around your community. I mean, if there is any sort of freedom of information act that would compell them to give them to you.....couldn't you then do with them what you wish? I'd definately consult an attorney first!

Again, I am so sorry but really glad that your son is learning a lifelong lesson. I was mistreated by doctors as a very young and sick child and it has colored my medical experiences for life and created a very educated consumer of me!
