Need help getting dog stains out of the rug!

We woke up at 5am to a sick dog who had diarrhea on the living room rug. Dh used Citrasolve to get most of the mess up. There is an awful stain there. We put Nature's Miracle on, although I'm not sure it will work on top of Citrasolve.

Any tips on getting the smell and stain out? This is in our formal living room...we are hosting a big Christmas party this year--and the stain is quite large, spacing out almost 2 feet!!!!

I really like Bac-out for pet stains, my mother swears by Oxyclean. I'm not sure how either one will work after Citrasolve . I think that your best bet for a spot that large would be to rent or borrow one of those extraction rug machines if you have wall to wall carpet - its tough to get the stains all the way out.

yea, bac-out, or bio klenz....you can get both in the natural section of the market........the bio klenz suds up, so i like it to clean with, then the bac-out for 'residuals'
