Is your baby on a nighttime schedule?

I feel SOOOO lucky. Mairaed is on a schedule- she eats at night between 11:30-12:00 and again at about 3:00-3:30, and does not get up again till 6:30ish. We have decided to let her wake up on her own (we were initially waking her up to eat every 3 hours) and it is working out great. I feel so well-rested! I go to bed early, when DH gets home around 10:00, then he feeds her the 11:30 meal with the SNS since we are still having some nursing issues, then I feed her the 3:00 boob and get up with her in the morning. I am so glad. I could totally see me spending my time the way the first night home went- baby wakes up at midnight and cries and tries to eat till 5:00am... with mama getting NO sleep at all. I am so glad things are getting established.

How are you all doing?

The last two nights, Piper has only nursed once between 11 and 7ish. : I have never woke my kids at night, but I suppose if they were born especially small, it might be more necessary. She almost always has a very fussy awake time from 9 to 11-12ish at night. Both of my other dd's did this as newborns as well, and it makes me crazy. I'm so exhausted by that point, I remember crying many times during the early months with the others. But after that, she is sleeping pretty well, although, she has to be on or right next to me. She fusses and wakes up pretty quickly if I try to lay her in the cosleeper. She prefers to lay on top of my chest.

We were on a nice relaxing 'schedule' of his own making where he woke twice from 11 to 7 but then last night he decided that 4 or 5 times was a better number and there was a lot of screaming due to gas pains before sleep was achieved again after nursing. So, my advice to you is enjoy it while you have it. It may last, it may not. And there's not much you can do about it.

I'm with Edwina on the expect the unexpected thing just in case!

We try to keep Lachlan awake for a bit in the evening and then he goes down sometime between 9 and 11pm.

Thru the night he wakes every 1.5 to 3.5 hours, depending. Then he's usually awake and aware for a while around 8-9am.

I am getting about 4 hours a night... if I sleep in and he sleeps, maybe 6. Not enough yet and I don't always nap, so I am starting to feel it. I need to force myself to nap.

Antonio nurses many times during the night, but since he is tucked by my side, we nurse laying down (I could only do this with my other babes when they were quite older, so I'm thrilled!) and I feel quite well rested, since I'm not getting up to pick him up or change diapers, etc. WE've had three nights with no fussing at all (maybe some screaming-gas pain type before turning off the lights) But, as said above, I know things could change anytime...

By the way, I've just seen Lachlan pictures, wow, he is awesome! Congrats mama! (and so are his brothers!)

We are doing great, especially now we have ds EBF and not having to deal with pumping and bottles. I LOVE being able to nurse laying down, that really helps with sleep. DH is still a bit nervous about co sleeping (we didn't with our other boys) but he sees how much it's helping me get the rest I need.

Ds is waking up about 3 times a night (11pm, 3 am and 5am) then we are up at 7am with the older boys. I'm only really awake long enough to change him then pop him on the boob.

Thanks for the compliment on Lachlan!

My bed is a pillow top and not really appropriate and so if he's in bed with me I am sitting up mostly or he's laying in one of those wedges to keep him safe. I'd never used a bassinet before this child.

So while he's nursing for over an hour, I am awake, even when I try laying down. My anxiety is REALLY high with this one about smothering him.

NAK

Conrad eats at about 10PM, 1 AM, 4 AM and 7 AM, give or take an hour. We don't wake him up... he semms to be on a 2-3 hour schedule between feedings.

We woke Dylan up b/c I was so paranoid about his weight, but we decided not to do that this time around. We had one night where we actually got two 4-hour stretches in a row. It hasn't happened again, but I'm hoping

Gosh, I haven't kept track at all. Georgia is 3 weeks old. She wakes up once or twice a night and eats. I pretty much sleep through it and have no idea how long she eats for or what time we start. She's been a super easy baby so far. During the day she seems to eat every 2-3-4 hours. But again I haven't kept track.

megh was sporadic...every few hours....it just depended. i never had her on a schedule...i let her nurse as she needed/wanted to. i would fall asleep w/ her nursing...she was safe. but yeah, i agree that your 'schedule' w/ mairead could change on a dime. i'm glad you are getting rest now, but just be prepared that it could change at any time. if you can go to sleep while nursing go for it...i love that.

awww megh just said she wants to wear glasses or contacts. : too cute.
