Just when things settle down....

Yesterday I felt slightly rested and in a routine and feeling good. Crash out, baby happy, and at 1am poor DD1 wakes up puking. I slept an hour and have been up with her since. Baby on boob, holding DD1's hair all night with the other hand, and slightly : now. Wondering how you guys with several kids, or baby and toddler, do this!

I've been taking it minute by minute, really. Dealing with two kids is an exercise in zen. Tomorrow my husband goes back to work, so we'll see how well I do at living in the now when that happens.

Wow. I hope you can get some sleep soon and your dd feels better. That sounds rough. It's bad enough for me with a (just) 2 y.o. and the baby. We've all got a cold, but nothing like the puking episode you are dealing with :

No advice just empathy as I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, wondering how these mamas with more than one kid have been dealing.

nak

a glass half full thought....my cousin and his wife just had their "surprise!" 3rd pregnancy, which resulted in twins (little boy and girl) this month. Their first two are barely 2yo and 3yo (almost 4yo). I'm not sure what I would do with twins infants, a 2 and 3 yo! :

that sounds beautiful to me...i LOVE being a mama. i often can't fathom how i'll mother 2 kids by myself.....the hard part for me is that i will eventually have to go to work. THAT SUCKS. i'm sorry dd1 was puking.......but it IS such a beautiful image to me that you were caring for both at the same time, different needs but comforting them both all the same....beautiful. you are doing great mama.
