Where is LO sleeping?

Normally Lach is in a bassinet which I find cold and unfriendly. Towards morning he rests better in bed with me. When he's in bed he is laying in one of those wedges so he won't roll towards us because of the pillowtop and how it forms these little hills on the bed. I have woken to find hubby's pillow hovering near Lach's face a couple of times.

My anxiety is really high about losing Lach.

Silas is in bed with us between DH and I. He is in one of those wedge things too. Every once in a while I will try to lay him in the Amby Bed but he is not that into it. He sleeps soooo much better on me so for naps, when it's feasible, I just snuggle him up in the Moby Wrap and go about my business.

um...sleep? what's that?

more seriously, when he does sleep, it's on me or in my bed next to me, latched on.

i have gotten him to take two "naps" in the bassinet downstairs recently...i think he likes the household noise. but the only way it works is on his belly. anyone else daring to put baby on his belly? i don't feel great about it, but i'm so sleep deprived that i gotta go with what works.

Callie seems to only sleep soundly on me. Whenever she is beside me or in the bassinet she fusses.

which sort of sucks, because I find I can't go into a deep sleep with her on me...and I need to sleep!

Caleb is in bed with us. We have a co-sleeper but he really doesn't like it...and I can only sleep if he's asleep, so that leaves us two options. On my chest or next to me. I spoon him so that I know he has an air pocket...he's either with him back to me, head under my chin and my other arm in front of his face or facing me, either nursing or with his face in the triangle of my armpit. I feel pretty good about the arrangement as this is what we did with Isaac (but Isaac was also okay with being in the co-sleeper so I could actually (*gasp*) snuggle dh occasionally.) Dh sleeps too soundly so I am vigilant about protecting Caleb's face/air supply when he's in bed with us. Dh doesn't have any sense of where his pillows are...:

megh slept right next to me...i mostly held her someway or another...i think i put a pillow to the side of her as i didn't want her to roll off. and of course she nursed a LOT. i didn't worry about her too much...she did fine. i can't even remember now, i just followed my gut... she was on my side and my ex was on the other... then when we moved she was about 3 mos. old and we had a king size bed AND a queen size bed butted up against one another in the same room......ex slept on the king and i slept on the queen w/ megh on one side of me... i think i put her in her boppy a lot. i know i used it for the couch...i bet i did use that in the bed (even though boppy co. says not to use for sleeping). that is what i will probably use w/ sheamas. at least til he moves around on his own and flips and such... those stupid baby gates never are good enough-i think they leave too much of a crevice if baby were to fall in there... i have a mini co-sleeper and had one w/ megh too but didn't care for it...had to reach too far to retrieve her at night. i like my babies right there next to me. megh and i still sleep together...i love it. can't imagine NOT.

I coslept with Edgar (DS1) from day one but with Desmond I am so nervous since he had respiratory problems, so he only sleeps in his bassinet or bouncy seat.

I'm co-sleeping but Madeline will sleep by herself once she's really out for naps. She is a very easy baby so far, so I hope that lasts. I'm having problems with my DD1 sleeping. She's co-sleeping with me still also, but waking up crying all the time. I think she's really having a hard time adjusting. And I worry about Allie rolling on Maddie when I put Maddie in the middle to nurse.

next to me at night.

For naps once in a while I can put Aldria in the swing, but for the most part she has to be on me in some fashion, either in the wrap or on my lap on the boppy (like now)

I read this and was shocked to find I'd responded to this thread already. And then remembered that my Silas wasn't the only one born in Nov.

My Silas sleeps between me and the wall. DD is on the other side of me. We are all on a queen size futon on the floor. DH is on a queen size mattress on the floor beside DD. It is my hope that one day she'll be willing to sleep with him so Silas and I won't end up so squished.

Nap time he is in a sling, my arms, or occasionally his vibrating bouncy seat.

So far Elizabeth sleeps best on me, either in a carrier or on my chest. We have JUST, in the last couple of nights, begun to get the hang of nursing laying down, so we've gotten some good stretches with herlaying next to me. Allison still comes in sometime in the night, so she goes in the middle while Elizabeth is between me and the co-sleeper next to the bed. In the first week she was willing to sleep in the co-sleeper or bassinet, but lately not so much. We got the swing out today and she is asleep in there now. So far she is MUCH easier than Allison who would only ever sleep in physical contact with me. Knock on wood that it continues!

At night he's in bed with us. I'm anxiously awaiting side-lying nursing, we're doing a variation of it right now. Ronin has marathon nursing sessions in the middle of the night.
For naps he's usually in my arms or dh's, but I'm sure we'll have to rely more on the sling or bassinet once dh goes back to work.

sometimes on me, sometimes next to me, sometimes in bassinette, sometimes on dh, sometimes in sling.. sometimes in car.. depends,, he is not sleeping as well last few days as he was..

Piper will sometimes sleep in the pack and play downstairs for naps, but she won't hardly ever sleep in the cosleeper upstairs during the night, which baffles me since they're almost the same sort of bed. I think the cosleeper is a bit firmer, but not much different. At night, Piper prefers to sleep on me or right up next to me. She wants to be touching me. I sleep okay with her on my chest, but I don't sleep well with her next to me. I have more anxiety this time around as well, about smothering her, so having her right next to me is not my favorite way to sleep. I'm anxious to try our Amby (we'll get it tomorrow!) Oh, and she slept in her swing for about 45 min. today. That's the first time we've tried the swing. She seemed to like it. She sleeps the best in the sling, but she moans a lot. She's the noisiest sleeper!

Libby co-sleeps latched on when she DOES sleep. I have a co-sleeper and it holds the wedge thing she hates, the car seat, my water, and chocolate covered nuts for me to snack on. She hates all things not me. No swing, no bouncy, no nothing by mama. She has slept in a sling on me, both a Moby and today finally a ring sling (Faster for me put on as the instant I put her down to put the Moby wrap on, she gets upset.)

You might ask, then how do I go to the bath room and do other things. Very carefully! How do I shower.... I DON'T! I have invited friends over to hold baby for me so I can shower and that worked if I was fast. My next shower should be tomorrow evening before choir practice as my ride will hold baby while I shower because I have to sit next to her and she would not love me smelly. LOL You should see me cleaning baby spit up off me with baby wipes!

Hubby needs to get home!

Libby and Callie sound like they would be great friends!

between dh & me - usually with a boob up his nose.

nancy, I have to laugh about it or else I will cry. Libby will not even let me push her a foot away from me in the bed..... She has to be touching me.

Sometimes I am just so sure we where monkeys as they seem to never put their babies down and Libby wants that. I have these thumb things and a need for a little space, just every now and then. I am not a monkey dang it!

With our first I was paranoid about smothering with our bed situation. I really wanted him sleeping in the co-sleeper which of course he hated. DH sleeps with the duvet up around his neck and I was constantly worried about it because ds was between us. One time I woke up and found the duvet over ds' head-ds always seemed to sleep closer to dh than me. After that I think I switched out the bedding so the duvet wasn't even on the bed. We'll see what happens with this one!

However she will stay quiet. Either snuggled up next to me or on DH (she likes to comfort herself with his chest hair lol) My Arm's Reach is seeming like a waste of money right now...
