Happy Hanukka!
OK, DS is in bed, I still have to clean up from dinner, and DD1 isn't home from shul yet. They had a Hanukkah party there tonight (that she didnt' inform me of until about an hour before it started and I didnt feel like going) so she got a friend's mom to drive her and off she went. DD2 didn't want to go and I decided not to give DS the option of going since I wasn't going with them.

If I'd gone, I'm sure I would have left early. I'm tired, I don't do well in crowds or with excess noise, and I doubt there'd be anything there I could eat. If I'd known we were going, I would have made sure to have a substantial meal before heading out, not a light snack to leave room for dinner.

So DD2 and DS and I had a quiet easy evening without DD1- probably quieter than it would have been had we all stayed home together for family time!

My cousin came by unexpectedly, to have my Mom (her aunt) help her with a college term paper, and we went downstairs and visited with her for a while before coming back up and getting DS to bed.

I really need to clean up from dinner soon.

I got Tim Hortons coffee after dropping DH off at work.

I am soooo tired! DD is getting her canine teeth in, so she whined and nursed for most of the night. :

I'm not sure how it will work, but the family we visited yesterday had a 2 toddlers who seemed to be doing fine with it, we'll see. My guess? I'll spend a lot of time sitting in a chair nursing him, that will give me a rest too :

Sounds good to me
Phone calls take all of my energy too, I'm fine if people call me, but the simple act of picking up that phone to dial..... I usually need to gather my energy and resolve for at least several days to do it!

I'm beginning to think that might be what's been making DS so tired lately. Yesterday he ate 1/2 an emery board before I caught him :
Usually he doesn't put anything not food related into his mouth!

why does dd need a big pair of shoes today?

St. Nicholas is coming to her preschool today, its a very small Waldorf pre-school. Its a day early, but they don't have school tomorrow. The shoes were supposed to go on Monday, but school was canceled because the teacher had cut her arm badly on a broken dish and couldn't lift anything.
They are supposed to be big so that the children can polish the shoes more easily.

What do you do with the shoes for St. Nick's day?

Remember that my holiday traditions for December involve lighting a menorah and eating foods fried in oil!
