Aaargh! Stupid TV commercial!

Okay. On a commercial for a some kind of TV, it shows a woman in labour. THEN she screams, "GET ME AN EPIDURAL!!!!!" Presumably they give it to her. That's already irritating, but then it shows the woman and her husband watching the TV, and completely ignoring their newborn child. They wave away the doctor saying, "it's a girl!" in favour of the TV.

WHAT? Bad! How come they can put a couple ignoring their baby on public television, but they'd never show a woman bf'ing?

I've seen this commercial. It's for a new tv channel (superchannel??).

It's terrible. She's screaming for an epidural like I've never seen anyone (on tv/movies) scream for one. I got the impression from the commercial that she didn't get an epidural... but this new tv channel distracted her from the pain so much she didn't need one and didn't even notice her child was born.

It's a terrible terrible commercial. Ignoring their newborn bothers me.... but so does the reinforcement of the birth-is-scary mentality.

The first commercial they had was a man who had an intruder in his home and was running away from the intruder, then distracted the intruder with this tv channel..... it was stupid, but it wasn't terrible like the childbirth one.

That's horrible! There's another reason why I'm glad I don't have TV. Seeing commercials like that would drive me bananas.

I am at the point where I hate almost all commercials. It's all disgusting, blatant sexual inuendo and promotion of the most horrid behaviors.

If it weren't for the NFL and the Discovery channel I wouldn't even have a TV!

You can watch the NFL on-line, and I wouldn't doubt you could find the discovery channel too. My husband and I watch all of our Packer games on sopcast for FREE! You can check it out here:

I recommend the WMP (windows media player) for links...they work the best for games. The sopcast links aren't as good, but they probably have the discovery channel on sopcast. It's way better than having to pay for cable, I can say that much
