is there a way to make homemade brownies in a TF way? My ds keeps wanting brownies and I would love to make some if I can find a recipe

You can use a regular brownie recipe and sub the ingredients with more TF versions, like sprouted wholegrain flour and Rapadura sugar.

I just made the flourless carob cake in NT last night. I subbed 1/2 cup cacao powder for the carob
and 1/2 cup agave for the rapdura. The taste was great, but the consistency was pretty spongy and we didn't like it. This afternoon after sitting on top of the fridge all night the consistency was much more somewhere between a torte and a brownie. I'm going to play with the recipe a bit more and see if I can make it more like a brownie.

I don't really think there's a way to make brownies TF in the true traditional foods sense. However, here's a simple fudge brownie recipe that I've been meaning to try using some good ingredients.
She also has a cakelike brownies and light brownies but those are a little different. I love Miss Maggie.
I figure if I use the fudge brownie recipe, and skip half the sugar and use good flour and eggs and butter instead of margarine, then they won't be as bad. But they'd still not be.. yknow, TF.
Then again, momma has to have a lil bit of chocolate every so often just to keep her sanity. I claim it's for the magnesium!

Have you tried to give her chocolate Larabars? I make a version at home that is better and more brownie-like. I don't have a specific recipe. It's soaked pecans and walnuts, grated coconut, cocoa or carob powder, and dates, all mixed up together in the food processor, and then spread on the sheets of my dehydrator and dried for awhile. YUM.

My oven died, but here is the recipe I wanted to try :
Coffebean chocolate fudge cake
Preheat oven to 375 deg
Melt 4 oz butter with 4 oz dark chocolate (I'd sub cacao powder).
Stir in 1 cup of sugar (I'd sub agave)
Beat in 3 eggs and a pinch of salt.
Quickly stir in 2 TBSP finely ground coffee beans (you could omit this).
Stir in 1/4 cup flour (I'd use ground nuts)
Add 1/4 cup cacao powder (I'd use cacao).
Pour in greased 9" cake pan and bake for 40 minutes.
Ice with mocha sauce made by putting 1/2 cup expresso coffee and 1/2 cup roughly cut dark chocolate in a double boiler. Stir until smooth and drizzle over cake.
As you can see I have a lot of playing to do with this recipe, but my darn oven is out. It sounds so good I almost mixed everything up planning to put the pan on top of my wood stove, but common sense triumphed over my chocolate craving
.
I found the recipe on this board and just haven't used it yet.
