Scrubbing the tub? ( and the potty)

We have a new fiberglass tub, we sometimes use homemade soap (I didn't make it!) and baking soda does not do the trick so what should I use? I'm just converting to non toxic stuff so I really need something that works so I won't be discouraged!

Same with the toilet--I can't quite get it clean, I tried vinegar, baking soda with a squirt of Dr Bronners and scrubbed away but there are still spots on the bottom--hard water deposits maybe? that I can't get off.

Baking soda does a wonderful job on the sink though and my vinegar, water, Dr Bronners glass cleaner is really great!

Hmmm...I don't know. I wonder why the baking soda and vinegar wouldn't be working in the tub and toilet.
What is it exactly in the tub?? (Hard water stains, soap scum, etc.) I have found that if I spray straight vinegar on hard water stains and let it sit for 10-15 minutes they wipe right up. It also works for mildew. Just let it sit for a while and then rinse. Sometimes for mildew it takes two treatments though.

As for the toilet, I don't have any suggestions, but hopefully someone else here will.
Don't be discouraged yet. I'm sure we'll all help you figure it out.

I use Borax for scrubbing the toilet ... and the tub if it's especially dirty (but we have an old enameled tub).

For the toilet, we use the same stuff we buy for spot and stain remover on clothes. I think the brand is Bio-Kleen. It works really well.

Probably the only toxic, chemically thing in our house though, is what we use on the tub. I just couldn't handle it anymore and it just wasn't coming clean at all, so I broke down and bought some Soft Scrub. I've used it once, and hopefully it will last a long time so I don't have to use it often. I just can't handle all the buildup in the tub.
