Baby Acne

Clark is 2 weeks old and has had bad baby acne on his face for several days. I keep thinking it will go away. Am I alone in this? I feel so sad to see his adorable face covered in what looks like white heads.

Conrad had little white bumps on his nose after birth, but those cleared up. Now no whiteheads but he gets red splotches that look like pimples... they clear up quickly but pop up elsewhere. No help from me, I'm afraid. I'm sure he is adorable in spite of his acne.

Not in your DDC I just wanted to say my DD had this too. She got it around 2 weeks old. It only took a couple of weeks to clear up. I know it's sad because here's this cute little baby with ACNE!!! Don't worry, it will go away soon mama

My kids both got baby acne pretty bad when they were around 3-4 weeks old... it's totally normal but I know the feeling of wanting it to go away so you can see their beautiful face underneath! And everyone asks if they have a rash, it's kind of embarassing...

IME it took a few weeks to go away. The ped said to wash with mild baby soap, someone else told me to put breastmilk on it, but mostly I think they have to clear your hormones out of their body and it just takes time. Good luck!

My pretty little girl just sprouted acne this morning at three weeks. : DD1 had it terribly for weeks and weeks. Boo hoo! But her skin cleared and now it's like porcelain, so it'll be
OK eventually.

dean is a mess.. i don't know whose complexion is worse my 17 yr old or the baby ! all my boys have had it badly for at least three months.. sigh... this too shall pass..

I remember with Edgar I was so shocked! But like Laura said it will pass. Good thing we have photoshop these days.

Aldria has it something fierce, right in time for Christmas photos. *pout*

I find if I wash her face with plain water (just scrub it a bit with a cloth) every morning and every night it seems to help. I just use a clean wet cloth and water. Just to get the oil off, kwim? If I forget to wash her face one night in the AM she's all broke out.

My girlfriends baby had it TERRIBLE, way worse than Aldria, it's all cleared up now, my GF said it got bad around 3-4 weeks and cleared up at 8 weeks or so.
