My daughter is 27 months old and she is a big nurser, but the other day it got pretty painful when she would nurse on my left side. I thought it might have been plugged ducts, so I've tried allowing her to nurse for a long time on my left side and putting a warm rice sock on it, but it has only gotten worse and now my right side is starting to hurt. It doesn't hurt more with let-down, but it is intense when she latches on and now it is actually sore just being touched. It doesn't really feel like thrush because I have no other symptoms (like sugar craving) and it feels like it is inside, not on the surface like in the past.
So any ideas what this could be? Could it be a hormonal thing (still no ppaf)? I started using Grapefruit seed extract (internally and externally) this morning just in case it is an infection of some sort, but I'm really stumped and it has gotten pretty unbearable on the left side.
