a simple movie/ video editing software?

DD is 5.5 and somehow acquired great computer skills (starfall.com is to blame).

i'm looking for something very simple. we'd shoot our "movies" on my cannon still digital camera. i'd like to be able to cut and combine segments; simple fades-in; add text.

it seems that either i'm an idiot (a possibility) or our cannon software doesn't do this.

I have a Canon, and our software does all this stuff. I don't know how though, ds is the one who's figured it all out I'll ask him for some info and post later what he says.

do you have zoombrowser? i can't even figure out how to resize photos within it, it wants an external editor!

i just found windows movie maker, but will have to figure out if it will take movies from a camera that is not a video camera.

do you know?

okay, playing with windows movie maker now. it worked for a bit, and then it stopped looks exactly like what i was looking for!!!
