4 1/2 yr old w/ loose tooth???

My foster DD will be 5 in February. She woke up this morning telling me her tooth was loose and wiggly, and I kept telling her she's not old enough yet. I finally checked and she DOES have a loose tooth! (I told her I was sorry for not believeing her. ) It's her bottom right tooth. She didn't hit it on anything, and all her teeth are in excellent condition (she has been to the dentist twice for check-ups). We called her dentist this morning and the front desk lady said 4 1/2 is too young to have a loose tooth and we made an appointment for tomorrow morning. I don't really feel like there's anything wrong, but I wanted to see if anyone here has experienced or heard of this???

Just FYI- she is big for her age- about 45 pounds, in size 6 clothing.

Is 4 1/2 too young to have a loose tooth???

My 4.5 year old has a loose tooth - bottom right.

My dd was also very young when her teeth fell out (also big for her age). She is now in first grade and her peers are losing teeth that she lost in preschool. I did take my dd to the dentist after calling as well, she was barely 4 - the dentist said all was fine and she was on the early side.

My DD lost two teeth right after turning four, and started getting two adult teeth in their place before the age of 5. She recently lost her third tooth (5 1/2 now).

I used to teach 3-5 year olds in preschool. About every other year we'd have a child who wasn't even 5 yet lose a tooth. I didn't think it was that uncommon.
