I found out last night that he had died on Saturday of Cancer. He was only 57, and he sure didn't look it. I didn't even know he was ill. What a fine entertainer he was. He is going to be missed. You can read more about his life and career at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...2003Aug10.html
It just seems like we have lost a lot of great entertainers in the last few weeks and months. It makes me sad.

I was just coming to post this after I saw it in my paper today!

So sad!

I just saw that movie (drawign a blank of the name at this moment) with the four black women going through trials and tribulations. He was in that and looked great.

I didn't know he was sick either...

Who will be the voice of Little Bill's dad now? Elliott and I loved him as Big Bill. So sad....

He used to work out in the same gym as I did in the '80s/early '90s, the World Gym on Lafayette Street, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Was really ... normal. Nice.

And talented.

He was incredibly talented. I used to love seeing him dance, he was truly gifted.

I know he was on broadway, and did alot of other esteemed work, but i absolutely love him in Running Scared with Billy Crystal. great movie, and he always brought a smile to my face.

I'll miss him.

I was really surprised when I heard he died, and one of the first things I wondered was who would do Little Bill's father's voice now. We don't watch the show often, but I always liked his voice for that.

I had forgot that he was the voice of Little Bill's dad. That is one of my favorite cartoons. I especially like what they call the great-grandmother, Alice the great. My husband has a striking resemblance to him, he has always had people do double takes when we are at restaurants and theaters. Needless to say, seeing people's reactions to him this week has been strange.
