wish i could get the hang of NAK!

but in the meantime i am here and reading all of you, even if i've had a hard time writing responses!

just wanted to send my love...and ask for tips re: nak! somehow wren & i got sidelying right quick (thank goodness! i actually sleep now!) but nak is not happening.

I'm not so great at nak, but I think the key is patience - and typing with one finger.

It took me to baby #2 to nak. With baby #1 I just looked longingly at the keyboard as I frantically tried to arrange baby and 18 pillows and my arms.

I'm with Edwina... I'm better at NAKing this time around, but I have to stay vigilant or Conrad's latch slips. WIth Dylan NAK=traumatized nipples every time.

Funny aside: for the first month or so on MDC I thought "naking" was some sort of goofy term for running around the house naked. You know, naking around. Finally I decided that there couldn't be THAT many people into household nudity.

Y'all have no idea how long it took me to figure out what the hell NAK means.

let me warn you, to avoid what I did with baby #2. I accidentally only nursed on one side for so long (because the other hand was using the mouse) that I ended up with ONE breast because the other one stopped producing milk, and the baby found it uncomfortable / unnatural to nurse there.

NAK is not nursing and knitting.

I use the boppy to prop my LO up and can nurse her on either side and actually type with both hands part of the time while she's nursing. But this is my 3rd baby, and I know I didn't do it this well, this early on with my 1st. And Piper also has an excellent latch and has from day 1 and my breasts are much more endowed this time than they've ever been.

Yeah, I'm not responding as much as I used to either. But I do read everything and think about all of you!

If I had to choose, I would much rather have a baby who will nurse side-lying than one who will NAK. Mine still can't get the hang of side-lying and I'm so tired!

i can only nak when he nurses on left side... or when i burp him.. not rite side nurse

dh has come p with lots of alternatives NAP.. nursing while pooping (ya done that 0.. NAD.. nursing while answering door.... NAC nursing while cooking.. (can't recc )...... i like the naked one the best!! too funny

I'm NAK. Haha.

I use a boppy and can go hands free. But I'm on the larger side so that may be why it's easier for me.
