Liver pills - Page 3

I have a lot of liver packages in my freezer waiting to be eaten. Are you all sure it's safe to consume the liver raw?? Mine's been frozen for months, but it still makes me a little nervous...

Also, I wondered if the reason the liver rats did so well was because of the increase in protein in their diet, rather than the liver itself, kwim? They should have had another rat group with a the same protein content in their diet, just not from liver to truly prove the merits of liver.

Took some yesterday around 1130. Did fine with it. No nausea or vomiting! Had energy all day yesterday until my head hit the pillow at 11:30 pm.

I'm going to eat lunch then take it again.

anyone want to give an update?

I've gone to taking it everyday now. I have been feeling run down for a week now, I think my Epstein Barr is back. (It's been a stressful time to say the least). I do feel tons better on it - at least I did when I started taking it - I had energy to spare.

Anyone else still taking the liver pills?

Me! I miss days here and there. I see a big difference on the days I take the pills, as does my husband. He *hates* having me give him stuff to take, so the fact that he lets me remind him about it speaks volumes.

I tried letting the pieces thaw, as someone here was doing, and it was just fine! More pleasant than the cold feeling, and I still didn't taste it. I usually still pop them cold, though, because I don't mind too much.

Still giving my 3 year old shaved raw liver covered in nutritional yeast on his toast, too. I get so excited to watch him eat it. Mmmm...

Hoping to revive an old topic... I just shaved some slivers off my old hunk of a liver.

I took almost a teaspoon, I think, didn't really measure. The last one didn't go down all that smoothly, so I'm feeling a bit funky at the moment. I know I need lots more vitamin A than I've been getting, so... I'm really excited about this! Even though the thread was old, it inspired me to FINALLY get up, dig in the freezer, and actually DO it.

Thanks! Has anyone else been keeping up with it all this time? Or did your bodies say "hey, lay off this for a while"?

I'm still doing it, and still feeing the positive effects. I actually have started taking about double what I used to take -- I sort of just pop them and swallow until I feel done. Usually 3 or 4 large chunks. Been combining with CLO with no ill effects.

I skip days sometimes, but feel so much better, and am so much more resilient, when I remember to do it. So I do it pretty regularly.

I'm going to join the liver sisters. I'm ordering some liver from the farm next week so I'll let you know how it goes when I get it. Thanks for all the positive stories. They are very motivating!

Has anyone tried dehydrating the liver pieces? I'm really worried about the taste of frozen/raw liver bits. Bleh.

A dehydrator is on my list of Important Kitchen Gizmos, whenever I have the money, figure out which one I want, and have somewhere to put it. I have a pretty big kitchen, compared to others I've had, and yet... my counters overfloweth and my cabinets are stuffed full. I even have two extra cabinet/storage/pantry thingies I bought and they are also stuffed.

But, I'm getting off-topic... I haven't noticed a liver flavor. I tip my head back, get my water ready in one hand, and drop the liver (one piece) down my gullet. The only part of my mouth it touches is way back on the back of my tongue, where it would seem there aren't any taste buds. I got the scarcest hint of an aroma last time, but that's it.

If you dehydrate it, how are you going to take it? Powder it and put in capsules?
