My best friend and her husband live on the other side of the country. She just gave birth to a baby boy about 2 months ago. For some reason, we all thought she'd be having a girl.
She ended up having an emergency c-section due to fetal distress and was in the hospital for 4 days. We hadn't discussed circumcision before the birth, although I'm pretty certain she knows where I stand (I know she reads my blog and I've been pretty vocal about it there). Since the birth, neither of us have mentioned it. I think she probably did, because I'm fairly sure her husband is and he's not the kind of guy who would be open-minded about something like that. I'm sad for her son.
Here's the question-- should I bring it up? I'm curious, but suspect I'm not going to like the answer. Not just because I think they circ'd, but because I know I won't have any respect for the 'reasons' that they did.
What would you do?
