anyone else having almost TOO good of a newborn stage?

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop My first DD was a pretty easy baby She cried some and hated her carseat but .. she slept thru the night (well 6 hours anyway) starting at 3 months! My second DD was umm... NOT an easy baby.. shoot, she just started sleeping thru the night last month (at 2 years old) and she's still a demanding child.. she gets into EVERYTHING, pests the tar out of her big sister, and has already broken her leg while acting like a little monkey.

This baby is SO good.. the last 4 nights (he's 1 week old today) he has went to bed at around 11:00-12:00.. he wakes up either 2 or 3 times to eat but just to get latched on while I'm laying down and then I go to sleep.. and don't get woke up for another 3 hours! So, I'm up for MABYE 20 min's total per night :.. this morning he slept until 9 before having a stretch of awake time. During the day he is super good as well, and he doesn't cry in the carseat. Oh, and nursing is going great.. he's got a great latch and my nipples are already past the sore stage. I'm sure some of that has to do w/ the fact that DD#2 has only been weaned for 4 months but still...

As far as postpartum goes, for the first time I had no tears so I'm feeling pretty good down there as well and the weight seems to be coming off pretty easily.. I still can't fit in a single one of my pre-preggo skirts but hey, I've lost 25 pounds at one week!

Oh, and I haven't had to cook yet My mom and other family members have brought food everyday so far.. and my aunt is bringing dinner tonight.

I just can't believe how well postpartum and newborn stage is going this time around!

So, to you still preggo mom's.. don't let the newborn stage scare you too badly.. you might get suprised with a nice easy baby this time around I know I'm suprised!

that's what I'm afraid of! I've just never had such an easy time right away! At least if it does change I'm getting well rested and healed before it hits I guess

nak

well we've had it pretty easy too although the last three days he's decided to be up more at night - hoping this will pass.

he still sleeps wayyy better than DD did & will also sleep in the bouncy seat (never had one for DD but she rejected the swing, bassinette & crib & even the car seat)

i also feel great energy wise except for my cold

oh, DS also has the cold so that might explain his new night habits

DS is just so sleepy still I almost forget there is a newborn in the house! He goes to bed around 9ish, wakes to eat 3-4 times a night, goes right back to sleep, and sleeps till 9 or 10 :. He's only been in the car twice but has passed out cold (and stayed asleep in the wrap for the entire duration of our errands) within minutes of driving. He smiles and giggles in his sleep.

Well, as far as me personally, I've recovered amazingly well from giving birth. It was very easy for me last time and this time. Piper is doing pretty well. The first week was rough with sleeping, but this past week has been much improved. Today has been an especially fussy day though, so probably not the best day to be responding to this. But she passes out the second I put her in her carseat AND we start moving and she usually sleeps in the sling the whole time we're out. She wakes to nurse 3-4 times per night, but she fusses for a good hour after I decide to go to sleep and turn out the lights, no matter what time I decide to go to bed or how long she's been awake or nursed. Doesn't seem to matter. But she sleeps the rest of the night pretty well.
