Careful what you wish for.....

.....Ya just might get it! After weeks of non-stop bitching at Mother Nature to to get some kind of progress going, I started having some very mild contractions late this morning, followed by a teeny little amount of nice creamy brown-ish mucus mid-afternoon (what a lovely-looking thing to behold, huh?) I'm assuming that translates into dilation to some degree or another

Let's see, the contractions started shortly after I noticed it felt like someone was rubbing sandpaper against my cervix, and that was about 10am. They're concentrated on the underside of the belly and wrapping around to the extreme lower back (like right above the butt crack) They're not painful in the slightest bit, but the pressure is almost exactly like what I experiance when I have that uncontrollable urge to crack my back. However, I know from trying to crack my back today that it's useless---The joints don't need popped
They're not exactly regular, I spent 2 hours timing them and they seem to range from a few seconds to a few minutes in length, with anywhere from 5 to 30 minute breaks between them....I actually fell asleep for a while out of boredom from waiting for another to start up during one of the lengthier breaks
The lovely-looking mucus appeared around 4pm, just one little blob on the TP about the size of a dime, and not a thing since....

And the babe, good lord, in any given hour since this morning, the baby's moved more in one hour than they seem to normally move in a whole day, the kid's going crazy in there, they're all over the freakin' place. And if they keep slamming into my stomach like they've been doing, I'm liable to puke, they're really getting my stomach churning something fierce....

Just thought everyone in the Overdue Club would like to know of the possibility of Mother Nature greasin' my gears
If that's not the case, though, this is a really cruel joke on her part :

I hope so Alisha, it would explain why between 3am Monday morning and 3am THIS morning I slept at LEAST 16 hours on and off throughout the day. I didn't even feel tired or exhausted, I just kept dozing back off to sleep during that 24 hour period....I figured maybe it was my body's way of recharging, or trying to store up some extra energy for baby day, but I wasn't too sure....Makes sense now, though.

That, and I'm wondering if my sense of temperature going wacky might have been some sort of signal...For the past few days, I've been sweating and feeling hotter than hell, it seems nothing I do can cool me off. I feel like I'm stuck in a sauna no matter what temp I set the a/c for, or how cold the food I eat or how cold the stuff I drink is.....I was chugging ice water last night, very distinctly thinking, "THIS ISN'T COLD ENOUGH!!!!"

My babe was slamming at me when I went into labor too - I bet this is it!

These are starting to hurt...not picking up in frequency or getting regular in length yet, but starting to hurt....Anyone feel up to settling a dispute between hubby and me? I'm trying to get him to run over to the store around the corner to grab a bottle of tylenol, but he keeps insisting it's not something I can take right now. I'm calling BS on that, and am pretty sure he just doesn't want to take a quick walk over there. Damn it, I just want a little relief while something like tylenol still has a chance at working

Yay, sounds like early labor to me!! That is awesome! Hope it progresses quickly and smoothly.

And personally, I'd skip the tylenol... I really don't think it is going to do much for you now!

I second the thought about Tylenol being no use to you right now...just try to relax as much as possible and let things happen.

11 hours from simple pressure to mild-moderate pain---Dunno about you, but it sounds smooth & steady to me!

Yeah, that kind of dawned on me after I posted the other thread about it. Well, even so, though, it would have been the act/thought that counted from him, really....I'm pretty irritated that he was that much of a butt about it....

Hmm, irritability with DH... sounds like another labor sign...

He'd better learn quickly in the next few hours to do whatever you ask, immediately, no matter how odd it seems to him!

Um- you can totally have tylenol. And if you did, I wouldn't ever say it wasn't a drug-free delivery, In fact, I think I'll have some tylenol, too. Tylenol in labor is way smarter than narcotics.

On another note (sort of) I experienced pink TP today. About 12 minutes ago. And all day long I've had the sorest lower back I can imagine. I wondered if it was constipation, although I had a nice movement this morning.

I can't get excited yet because on Nov 5th I had mucous AND pink TP and obviously that was a long time ago and I'm still pregnant.

AND- my mother (didn't mean any harm) commented today that it looks like baby has UN-dropped. Thanks, mom! She really didn't mean any harm, My fuller boobs were closer to my belly in that giant polo than they usually are.

belly aches and pains all day, not regular ctx though.

It is 6pm and I have been up since 3am.

Heh, I'm hoping he's not as dense as he could be, he knows damn well when I'm in a good deal of pain, I have a very short fuse....Arguing with me when I'm hurting is not something he likes to do, he's put up with me through too many periods to not make a mental note of that---my periods are excruciating, and these contraction pains aren't too far off from my ol' period pains. I mean, not dead-on yet, but probably by morning at the rate things are going.

And Lisa, I know everyone's different, but looking back on this morning, these contractions started up like fleeting period cramps in my lower back, but they settled into this varied irregular "pattern" (if that's what you want to call it) pretty quickly. I'm not telling you to get your hopes up, I'm just hoping the best for you

My mom made a similar kind of "thanks a lot" comment last night, actually---"I bet you're way off on your due date numbers, I don't think you'll have this kid until late December! You're just not big enough yet!"

Thanks a LOT mom, but I know my last period started Feb 1st, the dates can't be off by THAT damn long :

And she still doesn't understand that just because she did with me and my brothers, not EVERYONE looks like they're incubating a whale shark in there.

Blonde logic for you, I suppose. And it's out of a bottle, no less.

I hope this is it for you. On your due date, the 8th, I had a lot of BH-like cntrx, just like the day before, but then in the afternoon I noticed something a little different about them. I called those cntrx basketball contractions because they made my stomach look like someone was trying to push a basketball through my skin from the inside of my stomach - my tummy just looked sooooo weird and was sooo hard. I didn't have them regularly at all though and there was a LOT of time between those "basketball" cntrx even though I had other BH-like ones in between. Of course, nothing seemed "different" enough from what I'd been feeling for days, so I wasn't sure if anything was "really" happening. But in the morning on the 9th my daughter was born, so I hope these turn into something for you and you have a baby in your arms today.

I hope you've had your baby.

Last night I was having very MILD ctx every single minute. PLUS, I had the whole pink TP thing I have been so looking forward to.

I took a shower, and they didn't come in the shower (discouraged) but the minute I stepped out they were back. SO I went to bed and they didn't come laying down either. So now I'm up, all of my nighttime potty visits were pink. something MUST be happening. I think I am going to walk today since being upright seemed to inspire their frequency.

I am really a mental mess right now. The kids decorated the house for the holidays, we have a tree now, and a million other little santas and dreidels and everything else that comes from loving the holidays and not loving religion. We've got menorahs and poinsettas and candles and gingerbread men everywhere.

Well, no baby yet so far, but my plug spent most of the day from 7am vacating Haven't seen any of it since around 5pm, though. The contractions died down in strength and frequency a little, but that's fine, at least we're finally getting somewhere overall
