Alcoholic smelling whey?

Does this mean it's bad? I know it's supposed to last a long time in the fridge but how do you know it's gone bad? I generally just use it in bean and grain soaking water.

It's probably ok - I think it keeps fermenting. It's probably only bad if it has mold growing on it.

That said, since I don't drink alcohol, I'd throw it away.
