Homebirth Birth Certificate

Thread Starter
Mylee just turned a year. I called because I wanted to order a copy of her birth certificate adn there is no record. I mailed stuff in when she was 6 months old.

Now I am freaking out. What do I do now? Will it be hard to get?

Can the midwife get in trouble?

I really goofed this up :

I had to call Vital Statistics (Or it might have been Vital Records) then they sent me a packet of stuff and I filled it out and sent it back. 12$ a copy for birth certificates, which I got in the mail about two weeks later. You could probably look up the number for vital records in your state and they would have the answer, it's not like they would deny her a birth certificate or anything!! (There was a 72 hour period in which I was supposed to call, though, and I don't know how sticky they will be about that for you, but if you explain that it is their error, not yours I'm sure they'll come around.)
