Hi everyone!! I'm Erica. My partner Gabe and I just found out that we are expecting our first child on August 3rd of next year. I'm very curious about having a natural birth. This discussion was recommended to me by another mom-to-be, so here I am! I want to try and find a midwife in North Dakota or Minnesota willing to travel to South Dakota to assist me with a home birth. I'll be posting more. So good to be here!

Welcome! I just joined as well...we had a homebirth on June 17, 2007 and are now proud parents to our ds Joe. I had a very challenging labor, but with the help of my amazing midwife, was able to deliver in the comfort of our home. It was a truly unbelievable experience--the single most difficult and beautiful thing that has ever happened to me. Congratulations on your decision--there are some wonderful posts/threads here on interviewing prospective midwives. Best of luck!

Welcome and congratulations! I'm sure you'll find tons of info to help you in your quest for a homebirth, as well as tips for what comes after. The effort you'll put into getting there is more than worth it If you haven't already, be sure to head over to the homebirth forum and be sure to read lots of home birth stories...but warning - you might become a birth junkie like lots of us
