I hope that people beyond MDC are reading articles like this as well.

I knew I said no for a reason when dd1's dr. mentioned the vax at her last appointment. I do selective/delayed vax and this one was too new for me to consider subjecting my child to.

"Of the 77 women who received the vaccine while pregnant, 33 experienced side effects ranging from spontaneous abortion to fetal abnormities."

In the ads they very specifically say that it is not for women who are pregnant. What docs allowed this to happen?

Huh..I wonder why a preganant woman would be given the Gardasil vax. If they are pregnant, then they've had sex, so their propability of being previously exposed to the HPV viruses is higher.

That, and I thought that most vax during pregnancy (except the flu vax) were a no-no.

My daughter won't be getting this vaccine anytime soon.

Hm. This caught my eye:

Quote:
"Along with the potential of serious adverse effects is the question of efficacy. There is evidence that after approximately four years, the vaccine's potency significantly declines. The long-term value of the vaccine has yet to be determined; if it wears off within six years, will girls and women need to repeat the battery of injections they originally received?" the organization wondered.
So if a girl gets vaccinated at 12 y.o. of age, it might be wearing off when she's 16 -18 y.o., the time she's more likely to be sexually active, more likely than 12 y.o.

I'm not sure what to think about the heart disorders. That's alarming.

This is terrible.

I'm certainly in favor of actively questioning and researching the appropriateness of vaccines. That said, I'd try to do that research in publications that are legitimate sources of information and for me that doesn't include World Net Daily which often has articles about topics like soy makes kids gay. It is a right wing conservative news source with a clear agenda so I'd factor that into how you consider the posted article.

I couldn't agree more. That article says nothing. How are they connected? Was this death immediate or due to a car accident on the way home? This is the kind of unsupported stuff people latch on to and end up looking uneducated and misguided.

It was never intended for pregnant women, pre or post marketing. It was never tested on pregnant women or recommended for pregnant women.

I'm glad someone pointed this out. World Net Daily has an agenda that's anti-woman and anti-sex, so I'm pretty sure they're not in support of anything that facilitates women having safer sex.

(I'm not saying that Gardasil is safe as a vaccine or promotes safer sex, merely that it's billed as protecting people who choose to have sex.)
