Borax or Vinegar or Baking Soda to clean toilet?

I tend to use vinegar for most things because it is cheap. I was thinking that borax would be good but it costs a lot more. Maybe baking soda?

I don't want to buy any commercial cleaners but if someone has another suggestion I would love to hear it.

What would get my toilet bowl cleaner?

I use vinager and tea tree oil in the toilet and in the sink. It really makes them shine! As for my shower and tub, I prefer baking soda for that.

I'll vouch for vinegar w/ a few drops of TTO added. It seems to keep that toilet-y odor at bay. I just spray it around the bowl and pour a little into the water and swish.

I have always used Borax with a splash of lemon juice.

Clean and fresh smelling.

I sprinkle baking soda in the water then add vinegar so it goes all foamy. I let it sit for a little bit (15-20 minutes), then come back and give it all a good wipe/scrub. I use just plain vinegar on the outer parts. Everything ends up nice and shiny.

Very interesting. I didn't know you could combine tea tree oil and vinegar. I'll have to give it a try. We have those mineral stains showing up in our bowls. And of course, with boys, I have what seems to be a constant smell of urine around the toilet.
