i have piggy feet and piggy ankles...they are so swollen...probably from epidural, if i remember correctly what epidurals can do in the aftermath of PP... i know this will pass soon but oh man they feel like they will burst. and they look so miss piggyish. : they are kind of numbish too.

any of you mamas goin' thru this too now?

I had this after my DS though I didn't have an epi. I think it's from the IV fluid they fill you with whenever you are having any interventions. I remember it really sucked and was so uncomfortable. It can lead to worse engorgement too, I know you have another thread about that...

Hope it clears up soon. 4 days seems like a long time to still be dealing with it.

I wound up with massive pp swelling this time around...and I had homebirth w no epidural or IV...My midwives said it could last 2.5 weeks after birth and mine did and has just recently gone down. Ouch..not fun!

sounds like something natural then PP.......i had an IV immediately put in as the meconium was in the AF real thick and they wanted to be ready for antibiotics or ceserean or whatever....that was fine w/ me. you know, i really wanted to do this naturally, w/ no meds, no IV and so forth NOT in a hospital...but it all turned out so great i am thrilled w/ how it went. in fact i think i may make a card or gift for the anesthesiologist as he did such a great epidural for me..... (see my birth story on how i could still feel while pushing...) and the nurse who was in there during labor/birthing was so sweet. her dd's name is megan, spelled differently, and her son is 5 yrs younger like my sheamas-his name is dalton. i can't say the same for most of the nurses in PP. can we say DUH?! about most of them. they were clueless, some of them. i can't believe they are actual nurses (RN's or LPN's)!!! and one seemed WAY too in love w/ my son...made me a little nervous. i think she was a CA, whatever that is...that is what they wrote on my little wipe board.

i bet the swelling is also from the IV and the epidural too. the nurses should have automatically had me elevating my feet but nooooooooooo...and i didn't bother asking for even MORE pillows...i already had like 12 i got from them.

my MW saw my feet and ankles today and also checked my BP, etc. she said my BP was higher than it normally is and asked more questions... yes, sometimes i feel my breathing is faster...yes, i've been getting headaches...like behind the eyes type...the kind that make you so grouchy...dizzy a little but i figured that is the percoset. anyway...she told me there is such a thing as PP preclampsia and will check me again on sunday. have any of you experienced this or heard of it??? my hands aren't swollen but sometimes feel like they are trying to be...face seems swollen too a little. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
