sounds like something natural then PP.......i had an IV immediately put in as the meconium was in the AF real thick and they wanted to be ready for antibiotics or ceserean or whatever....that was fine w/ me. you know, i really wanted to do this naturally, w/ no meds, no IV and so forth NOT in a hospital...but it all turned out so great i am thrilled w/ how it went. in fact i think i may make a card or gift for the anesthesiologist as he did such a great epidural for me..... (see my birth story on how i could still feel while pushing...) and the nurse who was in there during labor/birthing was so sweet. her dd's name is megan, spelled differently, and her son is 5 yrs younger like my sheamas-his name is dalton. i can't say the same for most of the nurses in PP. can we say DUH?! about most of them. they were clueless, some of them. i can't believe they are actual nurses (RN's or LPN's)!!! and one seemed WAY too in love w/ my son...made me a little nervous. i think she was a CA, whatever that is...that is what they wrote on my little wipe board.
i bet the swelling is also from the IV and the epidural too. the nurses should have automatically had me elevating my feet but nooooooooooo...and i didn't bother asking for even MORE pillows...i already had like 12 i got from them.
