Laralou, I'm sorry your girls are sick. I responded to the thread you put up. If you need any kind of comfort or reassurance, feel free to PM me. I know the cough is such a scary, hard thing to hear. As well as seeing your children gasp for breath.

It's going to be okay. You'll get through this.

I didn't see any background info in your other thread so I was wondering what makes it a clear cut case? I ask because there are things (like mycoplasmal infection) that can look identical to pertussis. We had one of those at my house last year.
Whether they have B. pertussis or some other infection, if airway clearance is a problem perhaps you could call your doc & ask if s/he or the nurse can show you additional assisted cough techniques & ask if postural drainage & chest percussion would be of benefit as well. Also make sure your doc has given you written instructions-- a "call me if" list & a "go to the ER if" list.
