AMA policy on ultrasound

Thread Starter
I'm doing my research on ultrasound and the effect it has on babies, I found this

http://www.unhinderedliving.com/pultra.html

and it states that AMA recommend against unnecessary exposure. I can't find anywhere in the AMA website anything along this lines. I found one policy that states that ultrasounds have to be performed by qualified people, but that's about it. Anyone know where I can find it?

I'm doing the research for a friend and she is a Dr. I really need that link

TIA

Not the AMA, but here's the ACOG's guidelines:
http://homepage.mac.com/shettigar/MS3/Ultrasound.pdf

It says ultrasound should only be performed when there is a valid medical indication, and at the lowest doses possible. But elsewhere in there it suggests that mom asking for one is an okay reason to consider it. The whole thing is worth a read.
