I have a friend who had low supply issues with her daughter. She used a supplemental feeding system for a number of months with donated milk as well as formula later and bottles. She has a wonderful nursing relationship with her dd, 21 months and nursing strong. She is contemplating ttc and is concerned about weaning or tandeming. On the one hand, she thinks she should wean so a new baby would have enough milk. I don't think she wants to wait as long as it would take for her dd to wean on her own, but is feeling torn about weaning her at 2 to 2.5 or 3 even On the other, I wonder if tandem nursing wouldn't boost her supply. I know it seemed to for me. Any one have any similar situations or advice? By the way, she is not clear what caused her low supply issues. She tried about everything under the sun, accupuncture, herbs, etc. She suspects maybe years of underwire bras (fairly ample breasts). Thanks!
